Grant A Guitar Scholarship

Do you love music? Really love music?

Have you ever wished you could learn to play? – or take your playing to the next level?

 

Write about it – and maybe we can help make that happen.

 

The Grant a Guitar Scholarship is awarded each year to two deserving students – one high school and one middle school – to foster music appreciation and fluency – and, ultimately, to help reinforce and amplify the power that music has to improve our daily lives.

 

What is included in the scholarship?

The scholarship includes a guitar and lessons for each winner.

 

Who is eligible?

The Grant a Guitar scholarship is available to any full-time student currently enrolled in one of the participating schools in the month of April 2020.

This year’s participating high schools are Chagrin Falls High School, Kenston High School, Orange High School, Solon High School, and Aurora High School.

​

This year's participating middle schools are Chagrin Falls Middle School, Kenston Middle School, Ballard Brady Middle School, Solon Middle School, Orchard Middle School and Harmon Middle School.

​

New in 2020,one student member of Chagrin Falls Park Community Center will receive a guitar and lessons worth $500 (age 8 years through high school).

​

How can an eligible student apply?

Submit an original essay (no longer than 500 words) on this year’s theme: How does music act as a peacemaker in your life?

​

Email your essay to Essay2020@grantAguitar.org  any time during the month of April, 2020.
